Cross-border settlement infrastructure connecting Latin American payment markets

Efy Finance announced November 5 that it raised $5 million in a seed round led by Tether to expand cross-border payment and settlement infrastructure in Latin America.

The company is building payment tools for businesses that move money across regional borders, where local currencies, banking relationships and settlement timing can create operational friction. Efy said the new capital will support product and market expansion.

Stablecoin-linked settlement can provide another way to coordinate value between markets, but enterprise customers still need reliable local payout rails, compliance controls, liquidity and clear redemption processes. Faster movement between wallets does not by itself solve every banking or treasury problem.

The announcement did not disclose a valuation, customer count or transaction-volume forecast. The seed round is financing for expansion, not evidence of guaranteed savings or universal corridor coverage.
