Splitit unveils a white-label World Mastercard for banks and credit unions

The planned card would pay everyday purchases in full while allowing eligible transactions above a user-set threshold to convert into installments.

Splitit announced October 13 that it is developing the Splitit World Mastercard, a white-label installment credit product designed for mid-sized banks and credit unions. The company expects the card to be available to financial institutions in early 2027.

The proposed card would function as a charge card for ordinary purchases, with transactions paid in full within 30 days. Purchases above a threshold selected by the cardholder could instead be converted into monthly installments, according to Splitit.

Splitit says cardholders would be able to adjust installment plans or return to pay-in-full status before the statement due date. The product is designed to let a bank offer installment functionality under its own brand rather than send a customer to a separate point-of-sale lender.

The announcement describes a planned product, not a card already available to consumers. Splitit has not published final issuer terms, pricing, eligibility rules or a guaranteed launch date, and the product remains subject to the approvals and implementation work required for a card program.
