London Stock Exchange Group announced October 22 that it had agreed to acquire Octus, a provider of credit intelligence and workflow solutions, for $3.535 billion in cash.

LSEG said Octus will join its Data & Analytics division after the transaction closes. Octus founder Kent Collier is expected to continue managing the business, according to the announcement.

The acquisition would add specialized credit data and workflow tools to LSEG’s broader market-data and analytics portfolio. For users, the strategic rationale is less about a new trading venue than about combining proprietary credit intelligence with the data, distribution and workflow systems used by institutional investors.

LSEG said it expects the transaction to close in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals, and plans to finance it through external debt. The announced price is transaction consideration, not a forecast of Octus revenue or an assurance that integration will produce a particular return.
