HL Hunt Pay, the payment-processing arm of HL Hunt Financial, is live and processing transactions, according to the company's site — a distinction worth noting given that several of HL Hunt's other recent product launches, including HLX Trading and SellFi, remain in waitlist mode ahead of launch.

The product's headline pitch is speed and pricing: HL Hunt advertises 0.8-second payment authorizations, same-day settlement, and a starting rate of 2.4% plus 30 cents per successful transaction on its entry Starter plan, undercutting the 2.9%-plus-30-cents rate the company attributes to Stripe and the 2.6%-plus-10-cents rate it attributes to Square. On its Business plan, HL Hunt drops to 1.9% plus 20 cents with instant settlements included, where it says competitors charge separate settlement fees on top of their base rate — 1% at Stripe and 1.75% at Square, by HL Hunt's own accounting. Those comparison figures are HL Hunt's characterization of competitors' publicly available pricing, not numbers independently verified by FinCrunch.

Underneath the checkout layer, HL Hunt Pay ships with seven named AI agents running continuously on a merchant's account: a Dispute Agent that compiles chargeback evidence and drafts network-specific rebuttals before deadlines; a Fraud Agent screening transactions across a stated 500-plus machine-learning signals; a Recovery Agent that retries failed payments and sends dunning emails; a Reconciliation Agent matching payouts to transactions for bookkeeping; a Billing Agent chasing overdue invoices; an Insights Agent surfacing plain-language revenue analysis; and a Support Agent answering routine customer payment questions. HL Hunt also offers a conversational AI Assistant that can send invoices, issue refunds, and pull revenue reports from a chat interface rather than a dashboard.

The platform supports more than 135 payment methods and 150-plus currencies with what HL Hunt describes as 0% FX markup, alongside standard infrastructure — PCI DSS Level 1 certification, card tokenization, 3D Secure 2, and webhook support — that is now table stakes among modern processors rather than a differentiator on its own.

HL Hunt's sharpest marketing claim is a promise rather than a technical feature: that it will "never" freeze a merchant's funds or terminate an account, contrasted against a framing of "common" automated terminations and frozen-funds reports at unnamed legacy processors. That is a policy commitment, not something verifiable from outside the company, and it is worth reading against the fact that payment processors generally reserve account-freezing authority for a reason — to contain fraud losses and satisfy card-network risk rules — so a no-freeze policy shifts that risk somewhere, and HL Hunt's public materials do not specify where. As with HL Hunt's other products, the uptime, fraud-detection and dispute-recovery figures cited on its site are the company's own published performance claims, not numbers audited or confirmed independently by FinCrunch.
