Inside HL Hunt's AI Debt Collection: skip tracing, payment-plan math and a real-time compliance engine
Beyond its multi-channel outreach pitch, HL Hunt says its platform scores contact confidence before every attempt, generates AI-picked payment plans, and auto-enforces the 7-in-7 contact rule and cease-and-desist flagging in real time.

HL Hunt Financial's AI Debt Collection product, previously covered on this site for its multi-channel outreach and scaling commission structure, also markets a set of underlying scoring and negotiation features that HL Hunt says drive those headline recovery numbers: AI-powered skip tracing, automated payment-plan generation, and a real-time compliance engine.
On the skip-tracing side, HL Hunt's site states a 94% right-party match confidence rate, produced by cross-referencing phone numbers and addresses against multiple data sources and running email discovery when a phone number fails, with a confidence score attached before every outreach attempt. The company frames this as solving a specific recovery problem: outdated contact information that causes legitimate collection attempts to simply never reach the debtor.
For payment negotiation, HL Hunt's site shows the AI generating multiple plan options for a given account — for example a flexible 12-payment plan, an "AI Pick" 6-payment plan, and a pay-in-full option with a stated 5% discount — described as tailored to what each debtor can realistically afford. On contact optimization more broadly, the company cites internal figures of a 41% lift in response rate from its channel-selection logic and a 2.3-times higher open rate from timing messages around a modeled best-time-to-contact.
On compliance, HL Hunt says every contact is checked against federal and state rules in real time, including automatic enforcement of the FDCPA's "7-in-7" limit on contact frequency, per-state and per-timezone time-of-day restrictions, and instant account flagging when a debtor invokes a cease-and-desist request. The company states zero compliance violations across its platform to date, a figure it has not made available for independent, third-party verification.
