Finsei selects Thredd to power its new Mastercard debit-card offering
The London payments company says business customers can issue physical and virtual cards with integrated processing, fraud monitoring and 3D Secure authentication.

Finsei announced October 20 that it had partnered with Thredd to power a new Mastercard debit-card offering for Finsei’s business customers.
The arrangement provides card issuing and processing infrastructure for physical and virtual cards, with fraud monitoring and 3D Secure authentication included in the described service. Finsei said it is a principal member of both Visa and Mastercard, while Thredd supplies the issuer-processing platform.
For a payments company, using a specialist processor can shorten the path to card issuance and reduce the need to build authorization, tokenization and fraud systems internally. It also makes the operating split important: customers need to understand which party handles funds, disputes, cardholder support, data and regulatory obligations.
Apple Pay and Google Pay support is planned for a later stage rather than stated as available at launch. The companies did not disclose customer volumes, commercial terms or a universal rollout timetable beyond the announced card availability.
