Airwallex and OpenTable announced a commercial partnership on October 21 to make Airwallex a payment provider for restaurants using OpenTable.

The integration is designed to let restaurants process reservation deposits and prepaid Experiences through OpenTable. Those payment flows can help restaurants manage revenue before a visit and reduce exposure to no-shows, although the effect depends on a restaurant’s reservation policy and customer behavior.

The service is initially available to restaurants in the United States and Canada, with expansion to Australia and Mexico planned later in 2026, according to the companies. Restaurants can activate the payment option through OpenTable rather than building a separate payment integration.

The announcement did not disclose commercial terms, transaction-volume forecasts or a guarantee that every restaurant will qualify for the same features. Processing fees, settlement timing, refunds, disputes and local payment requirements remain important implementation details for restaurant operators.
